19 of the Russian's 21 titles have been earned on hard courts
A comeback the Russian player claimed his maiden title for nearly 30 months with victory over opponent Moutet in the competition championship match.
The athlete, a former world number one, has endured a difficult period, achieving just one match at the big events and undergoing a difficult moment at the American major.
His varied form on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serve in specific - resulted in him dropping out of the elite rankings and finally parting ways with long-time coach his previous coach.
Now working with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has consistently advanced in the past month - climaxing in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over opponent Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's initial title after the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hardcourt from that period of the previous year.
The win also indicates Medvedev has secured 21 titles at 21 various tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a competition with my two daughters simultaneously, so to win a title is really nice," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in tribute of my child Victoria, because the maiden victory I got when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had lost his previous six finals, including in that event previously this season.
Medvedev's defensive play style and regular reactions on the playing surface had prompted some to wonder if his skill to perform at the elite level was finished.
Yet the player has altered his approach in the last few weeks, striving to come to the net and perform assertively, backed up by an improved serving game.
The champion recovered from a disadvantage in the opening set against the difficult Moutet, winning four of the final five exchanges to gain the advantage.
The pair swapped break points in the middle set before the Frenchman, attempting for his initial professional championship, took control to push for a third set.
He defended four early chances in a competitive deciding set before the Russian secured a break to that score to close out the victory.
Appropriately, Medvedev earned the title with a point at the net area, with the Frenchman failing to manage a return after a lengthy match.
