Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be broadcast live on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the two fighters came face-to-face to publicize the upcoming bout.
Ex twice world heavyweight champion Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami arena on December 19th.
Boxer's Mindset
"I plan to damage his features and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I'm going to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."
Civil Interaction
In spite of those words, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally recognized for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.
Paul instead targeted former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "not serious" after Ngannou rejected a fight offer.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at British rival Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua stated.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Fighter
In spite of declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his opponent's fighting skills.
"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.
Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since becoming pro.
He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.
Financial Attraction
Still, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of boxing's greatest financial successes, regularly earning massive earnings.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would derail the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly being planned for 2026.
"It's going to be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.
Physical Difference
As Joshua and Paul met for the usual stare-down, with their physical disparity on show, it drove home just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the match is really proceeding.
